This weekend in Nogaro, theAlpine The ELF Cup Series is about to enter a new era by joining the GT4 France grid. For this first round of the season, seven two-driver crews will be on the starting grid.

Alpine ELF Cup Series: Major changes this season

During the Easter Cup races taking place this weekend in Nogaro, theAlpine The ELF Cup Series is about to undergo its biggest revolution to date. Starting this year, competitors from the championship will be integrated into the starting grid of the French Championship. FFSAGT and will therefore participate in the same races as the GT4 France drivers, namely two one-hour events per weekend. Until then, theAlpine The ELF Cup Series operated separately with support races in a 30-minute Sprint format, meaning only one driver could take the wheel of the car. This is now a thing of the past, as to better reflect the specific characteristics of GT4 France, two drivers will share a single vehicle. More than ever, strategy will therefore be at the heart of the competition.Alpine ELF Cup Series through these driver changes during races.

Some great fights are coming up in Alpine ELF Cup Series

For this first meeting of the season, seven cars will be on the starting grid for the Easter Cups, bolstering the overall field of the FFSA GT French Championship. Among the crews entered this year, keep an eye on Chazel Technologie Course with Romain Monti – Rodolphe Wallgren, Julien Paget – Anthony Pisano, and Frédéric de Brabant – Alexandre Lopez, all of whom could play a significant role in the title race. Also worth watching are the unusual duo of Matéo Herrero – David Barrere at Herrero Racing, and Paul Roques – Anthony Fournier of Race Cars Consulting, the reigning champion team. But all the crews competing in this series will also have to consider an important factor: for the first time since the series' inception in 2018, Pirelli is the tire supplier for the category, replacing Michelin, as the Italian company is a partner of the FFSA GT French Championship. It remains to be seen how the drivers will behave. Alpine The A110 Cup will be running on these tires.

Who will succeed Léo Jousset in Alpine ELF Cup Series?

Five meetings are scheduled for the 2026 season, including Nogaro, Dijon-Prenois, Spa-Francorchamps, Magny-Cours, and Paul Ricard next October to close the season. These events will be held alongside SRO-sanctioned races, thus creating a natural pathway to the highest level. Last year, Léo Jousset won the title in Alpine ELF Cup Series and will make its debut at Nogaro in GT4, in a Alpine Prepared by the Race Cars Consulting team, alongside Rudy Servol, this driver pairing is already generating excitement, as Servol is considered one of the best Am drivers on the grid, while Jousset is undoubtedly a promising talent. He will participate this year in the SRO GT Academy, won last year by Gaspard Simon, and will attempt to secure a scholarship to move up to GT3 if he finishes the season as the best driver under 30.

Poor French circuit championship, it has fallen very low, they mix several types of cars to have a decent number of vehicles on the grid, the years from the 70s to around 2010 are long gone.
