Finali Mondiali – Michelle Gatting first woman to win the Trofeo Pirelli

With a 29-point lead at the start of the penultimate race of the Trofeo Pirelli season, contested on the Mugello circuit as part of the Finali Mondiali (the grand finale of the Ferrari Challenge), Michelle Gatting secured the title by finishing in fourth place with the #83 Ferrari of Iron Ladies“This is not only a major victory for Michelle and the Iron Dames, it also marks a milestone for women in motorsport as it is the first time a woman has won this championship. Iron Dames are women driven by dreams and if you work hard, it pays off, as Michelle demonstrated with her achievement today”, declared Deborah Mayer, founder of this women's project at Ferrari.

“I'm delighted with today's result. I am very pleased with the performance of the car and the team throughout the season and I am of course honored to be the first female driver to be series champion. I think this is a very important step for women in motorsport. The race itself was a bit disappointing due to the number of times the safety car was out, but it was important to bring the car home. Tomorrow, I will undoubtedly attack hard”, declared the champion of the day, whose title rewards a season punctuated by two victories, seven podiums and four pole positions. The Dane will take part in the last round of this 2021 exercise this Saturday alongside Dorian Pin and Arno Dahlmeyer.
