Grasser Racing Team and Lamborghini on pole at Silverstone

GRT with the trio Bortolotti – Engelhart – Ineichen (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO n°63) took pole position for the 3 Hours of Silverstone, the second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, with the best cumulative average of Q1, Q2 and Q3 this Sunday morning. A session where many of the favorites were surprised in Q1.

Q1 was dominated by the #3 Lamborghini Huracan GT63 Evo – of Mirko Bortolotti, in 1'59″114, half a second ahead of Dries Vanthoor (#8 Audi R3 LMS GT2 – Team WRT). The session was neutralized twice by a red flag following the exits of Ricardo Sanchez (Audi R8 LMS GT3 no. 10 – Team WRT), then Clemens Schmid (Audi R8 LMS GT3 no. 66 – Attempto Racing).

Neutralizations which were costly for several favorites, notably the Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°4 – Black Falcon de Maro Engel et n°88 – AKKA-ASP de Raffaele Marciello, sans chronos, tout comme les Porsche 911 GT3 R n°98 et n°99 – ROWE Racing.

Both Aston Martin Vantage GT3 – R-Motorsport were also unable to set any real significant times, just like the No. 911 Porsche 3 GT54 R – Dinamic Motorsport, winner at Monza.

In Q2, Luca Stolz (Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°4 – Black Falcon) allowed the reigning champions to regain some momentum by setting the best time in 1'59″083, but the German team's car remained stuck at the bottom of the cumulative ranking, still dominated at this moment by the #63 Lamborghini.

The last part of qualifying, which saw Nichi Thiim (Aston Martin Vantage GT3 n°76 – R-Motorsport) set the absolute best time in 1'58″890, will not change the hierarchy for pole, therefore secured by Bortolotti – Engelhart – Ineichen.

Mattia Drudi – Pieter Schothorst – Steijn Schothorst (Audi R8 LMS GT3 n°55 – Attempto Racing) will start on the front row and dominated the Silver Cup. 3rd place for Franck Perera – Phil Keen – Giovanni Venturini on the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo n°519 – FFF Racing.

Jules Gounon – Steven Kane – Jordan Pepper placent la première Bentley Continental GT3 n°107 – Team M-Sport en 4e position devant la Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO n°563 – FFF Racing de Mapelli – Caldarelli – Lind.

Disillusionment for the Porsche 911 GT3 R – ROWE Racing, 38th and 39th behind the No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT4 – Black Falcon. The No. 3 Mercedes-AMGG T88 – AKKA-ASP of Marciello – Abril – Meadows will start 40th.

In Pro-Am, the No. 3 Aston Martin Vantage GT97 – Oman Racing with TF Sport of Eastwood – Al-Harthy – Yoluc took pole, while in the Am Cup, the No. 3 Lamborghini Huracan GT77 EVO – Barwell Motorsport de Amstutz – Machitski – Ramos dominates the session.
