48 GT3 in Endurance Cup at the Nürburgring

Already very full for the opening at Imola, the GT World Challenge grid Endurance cup is expanding for the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring with 48 cars expected on September 6.

On the calendar for the first time since 2016, the Eifel circuit will notably welcome 25 crews in the Pro category.

The winners of Imola, Mirko Bortolotti and Kelvin van der Linde, will obviously be there, but their teammate in Italy, Matthieu Vaxivière, will be replaced by the usual starter Rolf Ineichen in the No. 8 Audi R31 LMS of Team WRT.

Winner in the sprint cup at Misano, the other Audi of the Belgian team driven by Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor will meet Christopher Mies in endurance.

Alongside WRT, Audi will once again be able to count on Attempto Racing, pole winner at Imola thanks in particular to Frédéric Vervisch, as well as Saintéloc, who scored two podiums at Misano.

At Porsche, ROWE Racing doubles the stake compared to Imola. The usual No. 99 driven by Dirk Werner, Julien Andlauer and Klaus Bachler will be joined by the No. 98 driven by Simona de Silvestro, Timo Bernhard and Jeroen Bleekemolen.

Another regular at the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, KCMG will make its appearance this season in GT World Challenge, with a Porsche in the hands of Edoardo Liberati, Josh Burdon and Alexandre Imperatori. The two cars from GPX Racing and that from Dinamic Motorsport will complete the Porsche squadron.

Mercedes-AMG will be represented by the French AKKA-ASP. The No. 88 driven by Timur Boguslavskiy, Felipe Fraga and Raffaele Marciello finished second at Imola. Haupt Racing and GetSpeed will also defend the colors of the star brand. Although it should not play the leading roles, note the presence of a JP Motorsport Mercedes driven by Mathias Lauda, Patryk Krupinski and… Christian Klien.

Lamborghini, in difficulty during the first rounds, will once again trust three cars, two for Emil Frey Racing, including the 163 driven by Frenchman Franck Perera and one for the reigning champions Orange 1 FFF Racing team.

Both Ferrari from AF Corse and SMP Racing, one moment in the lead at Imola, will be present.

The K-Pax Bentley had mishaps at Imola but will be determined to show its true level in Germany. Alex Buncombe will replace Alvaro Parente in the Bentley alongside Andy Soucek and Jordan Pepper. Nelson Panciatici will make his Endurance Cup debut in the Bentley of the French CMR team in place of Petru Razvan Umbrarescu alongside Pierre-Alexandre Jean and Seb Morris.

La McLaren from Optimum Motorsport completes the Pro entries with Rob Bell, Oliver Wilkinson and Joe Osborne.

The entry list.
