In Quarantine with AUTOhebdo – The 1997 FIA GT season to relive

There was a time not so long ago when cars combining power, singing sound and above all fabulous design fought on legendary circuits. From Spa to Suzuka via Mugello or Silverstone, the GT1s of the brand new FIA GT championship (launched on the ashes of the BPR) surprised and detonated in 1997. 

This year sees the appearance of the Germans Mercedes CLK-GTR et des Porsche 911 GT1, lesquelles vont entrer en concurrence avec la référence, la McLaren F1 GTR long tail. Also not to be underestimated is the presence of the brutal Panoz Esperante GTR-1, the Batmobile of the time, powered by a monstrous Roush V8! All the events of the season can be viewed below:
