In quarantine with AUTOhebdo – All the 1995 BPR events to relive

Before the GT World Challenge, the FIA GT1 World Championship, the FIA GT, Stéphane Ratel was behind the launch of the BPR Endurance Series, alongside Patrick Peter and Jürgen Barth, BPR taking up the initials of the surnames of the three founders.

This Monday, we invite you to relive the 1995 season of this legendary series, made up of 12 rounds passing from Jerez to Nogaro, to the Nürburgring to Suzuka and Zhuhai.

Round 1: Jerez

First steps in the very sound competition McLaren F1 GTR, powered by an original BMW V12. They will from the outset compete with Ferrari F40 LM and GTE.

Round 2: Paul-Ricard

Cette saison-là, quatre catégorie de véhicules sont acceptées : les GT1, mais également les GT2, GT3 et GT4. Ces dernières classes sont surtout dominées par les différentes versions de Porsche 911.

Round 3: Monza

In GT1, we must not forget the presence of several Venturi 600LMs, but also rare Jaguar XJ220s, and even... a De Tomaso Pantera!

Round 4: Jarama

Round 5: Nürburgring

Round 6: Donington

Round 7: Monthléry

Images worthy of another time! Cars use a portion of the speed ring. Particularly rough, the terrain damaged the suspensions of the GT1s, which left victory to the Porsche 911 GT2 from Mülbauer Motorsport of Oberndorfer-Hübner.

Round 8: Anderstorp

Round 9: Suzuka 1 Km

The flagship event of the Japanese automobile season sees the presence of several cars from the JGTC, but also of a few prototypes such as the Mazda Kudzu DG3 which takes pole position. She will give up in the race.

Round 10: Silverstone

Round 11: Nogaro

Rather accustomed to single-seaters and Tourism, the Paul-Armagnac track welcomes the GT1 and GT2 monsters. The McLarens are much more comfortable there than their great rivals Ferrari.

Round 12: Zhuhai

And for those in a hurry, here is a summary of this season in almost an hour; If you're bored with all this, there's nothing more we can do for you!
