This is unprecedented since the Nürburgring event in 2016. At the time, the McLaren was a 650S version and the championship was not called GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup but Blancpain GT Series! For the first time in five years, the English manufacturer took pole position in the discipline.
The Woking brand owes this performance to Ben Barnicoat and the Jota Sport team. The English duo will open the field in Race 1 at Brands Hatch scheduled for this Sunday, August 29.
For Race 2, pole was achieved by testing expert, Raffaele Marciello (Mercedes). The Italian leader of the Tarn-based team AKKA-ASP collected his eighth pole in GTWCE ahead of another Mercedes, that of Maro Engel (Toksport WRT).

Raffaele Marciello has his second pole of the season, but the final few moments must have been nervous as his rivals ventured out.
