New provisional calendar for GT World Challenge Asia

The GT World Challenge Asia has been given a new provisional calendar by SRO Motorsports, in response to the coronavirus crisis, which has paralyzed motorsport since March.

First of all, it is the Sepang round in Malaysia which will serve as the conclusion of the Asian season (December 5-6), the track having hosted the Grand Prix of F1 initially to open the debates. This role will be assigned to the Japanese circuit of Autopolis, on July 11 and 12.

The championship will remain in Japan for the second round, since Fuji will be visited either on July 25 and 26 or August 1 and 2. On the other hand, Suzuka is no longer part of the calendar.

Shanghai in China will be the scene of two races, first on September 12 and 13, then on October 17 and 18 with the Shanghai 888, a three-hour endurance race.

This timetable, however, remains provisional, as the situation may still evolve in the face of the pandemic. SRO Motorsports should probably unveil a new calendar for the GT World Challenge Europe in the coming days, with the promoter awaiting in particular the different regulations in the deconfinement phases.

July 11-12 – Autopolis (Japan)
July 25-26 or August 1-2 – Fuji Speedway (Japan)
September 12-13 – Shanghai International Circuit (China)
October 17-18 – Shanghai 888 (China)
December 5-6 – Sepang (Malaysia)
