Dress rehearsal for the GT3s at Paul Ricard

For ten years, every year, the GT3s have stopped in the Var in June. Since 2015 and the transition from a 3 to 6 hour format, the race has more than ever played the role of a major rehearsal before the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (July 28-31).

With a nighttime arrival and high temperatures in a safe environment for the drivers, everything is in place to properly prepare for the Belgian double round of the clock. Recent winner of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (May 26-29), but not yet crowned in his country, Dries Vanthoor tells us more.

Final lesson

Theater of spectacular races in each edition, the Belgian circuit is intimidating and the decorum which surrounds the race meets precise codes. Like the 24 Hours of Nürburgring or Le Mans, drivers must perform in town for fans with specially organized festivities, without losing sight of the race and its intensity. Because at Spa-Francorchamps, when the drivers enter the scene, we can quickly go from entertainment to drama and flirt with tragicomedy.
