SRO reveals the rules of the Esport Cup

It is now confirmed, the virtual will be brought into reality in GT World Challenge Europe. During each endurance cup meeting, an Esport cup race will also be organized.

At each round, teams entering a Pro or Silver car will need to select one of their drivers to participate virtually. They will battle for the inaugural Esport Cup titles over five one-hour races, with points awarded to the top three overall and silvers on a 3-2-1 basis.

These points will be added to the scores of theEndurance Cup and Sprint Cup to determine the overall and Silver team titles for 2021. A successful Esports campaign could be worth up to 15 points. Teams will also compete for a significant prize pool, with €25 up for grabs at each event and a total of €000 on offer throughout the season.

The competition will take place on site at the Esports Arena. Two hours of testing will be available on Friday, while the bulk of the action takes place on Saturday. There will be a non-mandatory 30-minute warm-up, followed by a 20-minute qualifying session to establish the grid for the one-hour race. All drivers will have to stop once in the pits. Each race will feature a maximum of 24 competitors.

All five events will be broadcast live for free on social media. The season will begin at Monza on the weekend of April 17-18.
