Tech1 Racing continues with Lexus and renews its crews

After a year of discovery in 2019, both of the GT3 category and the specificities of the SRO Motorsports series, Tech1 Racing will aim to progress on the GT World Challenge Europe scene in 2020.

The Toulouse structure of Simon and Sarah Abadie, associated with Olivier Panis, will once again operate a Lexus RC F GT3, this time for the entire season, i.e. the five Sprint rounds and the five meetings Endurance including the 24 Hours of Spa at the end of July.

And after having evolved mainly in the Am Cup in 2019, it is towards the Silver Cup category that Tech1 Racing will turn its attention with a trio composed of Aurélien Panis, Thomas Neubauer and Timothé Buret in the Endurance Cup, Panis and Neubauer being associated in Sprint .

Aurélien Panis will also wear the official pilot cap of the satellite brand Toyota.

“We are very happy to collaborate again with Lexus, comments Sarah Abadie. This year, we are giving all our confidence to the youth with this trio of “silver” drivers whose average age is 23 years old and whom we know very well having worked with each of them in the past in different categories.

By confirming Aurélien Panis as Official Driver, Lexus is paving the way for young people to represent the brand in GT. Timothé Buret started endurance with us and has acquired solid experience in this field for four years by participating in theELMS and 24 Hours of Le Mans with our team.

Last year, we called on him to strengthen the line-up of amateurs for the Total 24 Hours of Spa in GT3 with the Lexus and at the end of this event, it was a common desire to want to enter in 2020 behind the wheel of this same car.

Thomas Neubauer is a driver full of energy, enthusiasm, and a great thirst to win. He is the only one of the trio to have participated in a full season in GT3. His experience will be very useful for his teammates. »

Thomas Neubauer indeed played the 2019 season within the AKKA-ASP team with success since the Silver Cup title in the Sprint Cup rewarded his season, which began with a bang at Brands Hatch with an overall victory.
