A Sprint grid on the rise in 2021, Endurance is filling up

After a complicated 2020 in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, we could have expected a drop in motor racing entries due to possible economic difficulties.

But it is clear that the discipline remains attractive, as evidenced by the very beautiful starting grids assembled by SRO Motorsports for the 2021 GT World Challenge Europe.

If 40 cars are expected over the entire season Endurance Cup, representing nine brands, proportions equivalent to those seen in recent seasons, the Sprint section even managed to progress compared to last year, despite new competition from DTM.

29 GT3s should fill the field of short races, the largest total since 2017, with eight brands represented (Mercedes-AMG, Audi, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, Porsche, McLaren et Aston Martin, the latter three making their return, thanks to Dinamic Motorsport and Team Allied for Weissach, Jota for Woking and Garage 59 for Gaydon).

Furthermore, 25 cars will compete in the entire championship (Sprint and Endurance rounds combined).

The peak of the season will once again be the 24 Hours of Spa (July 29 – August 1), where a more than substantial grid will be expected.
