  • We know the 2023 Sprint Cup champions in GT World Challenge Europe! Ricardo Feller and Mattia Drudi won the title at the end of the last round of the season, contested this Sunday in Zandvoort. The crew of the No. 40 Audi from the Tresor Orange 1 team, winner the day before in Race 1, did it again this Sunday in Race 2 and took advantage of the premature abandonment of the race. Mercedes n°88 of Akkodis ASP.
  • Raffaele Marciello and Timur Boguslavskiy still had every chance of being crowned at the start of Race 2 but their hopes were quickly dashed on the first lap. The Russian was hit at the entrance to the third sector by Lorenzo Patrese, driver of the No. 99 Audi of the Tresor Attempto Racing team... and therefore garage neighbor of the new Sprint Cup champions! Both cars retired, with the Mercedes' radiator punctured.

  • Victory in Race 2 therefore went to Ricardo Feller and Mattia Drudi after a crazy race! After 20 minutes of the event, heavy rain fell on the Zandvoort track, forcing the drivers to run on slick tires on a wet track while waiting for the pit lane to open! Calan Williams was the most agile, avoiding making mistakes unlike Maxime Martin, who was then leader.
  • For safety reasons, the stewards decided to impose a Full Course Yellow throughout the pit stop window, in order to avoid traffic jams in the short pit lane at Zandvoort. On the restart, Ricardo Feller quickly took over Valentino Rossi then on Niklas Krütten.
  • Stuck in traffic for a long time, the #32 BMW of Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor managed to move up to second place, thanks to a crazy stint from Dries Vanthoor at the end of the race. Team WRT even placed two cars on the podium since the #30 of Niklas Krütten and Calan Williams finished third. Valentino Rossi made a mistake ten minutes from the end of the race and fell to 7th place.
  • Niklas Krütten and Calan Williams also won the Sprint Cup title in the Gold category.
