The penultimate race of the 2022 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup season was the scene of securing the overall title. This Saturday, September 17, Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts (Audi) were crowned thanks to their third place on the Valencia circuit (Spain). Vanthoor-Weerts record their third consecutive title in the discipline!
The title was decided in the first race of this final meeting largely after qualifying. Challengers director of the Belgian duo of Team WRT, Raffaele Marciello and Timur Bogulavskiy (Mercedes) were missed in the great widths (16th). The winding route of Valencia did not allow them to climb beyond 8th place.
