Huff and Filippi on pole at the Hungaroring

Rob Huff (Citroën) took WTCC pole at the Hungaroring in Budapest (Hungary). The Münnich Motorsport driver, 2012 world champion, was the fastest during the last two qualifying sessions and achieved a time of 1'48''264 to beat Mehdi Bennani (Citroën) by more than 3 tenths. The Moroccan will, however, have to move back 5 places on the grid following a penalty received at Monza.

Esteban Guerrieri (Chevrolet) was the closest to the first two C-Elysée WTCC even if he is more than 6 tenths behind the Q3 benchmark. The Campos Racing driver preceded the Volvo S60s of Nicky Catsburg and Nestor Girolami.

John Filippi (Citroën) achieved a great feat by taking 10th place in the main race, which will allow him to start on pole in Race 1 where the top ten in qualifying is reversed. The resident of Sébastien Loeb Racing will start ahead of Tiago Monteiro (Honda), Thed Björk (Volvo), Tom Chilton (Citroën) and Norbert Michelisz (Honda). Yann Ehrlacher (Lada) missed 10th place by a tenth and will have to settle for 11th position for both starts. Aurélien Panis (Honda) is 14th.

Honda won the MAC 3 with an average time of 3'46''594, ahead of the Volvo S3s by 8''60.
