Hyundai delighted with i30 TCR testing at Misano

Hyundai Motorsport was invited to take part in the 24 Hours of Misano (Italy) last weekend after receiving an invitation from organizers Creventic and tire supplier Hankook to evaluate the new i30 TCR.

The Korean manufacturer used this event to test different points of the i30 TCR by entering it with Gabriele Tarquini and Antti Buri. The testing program proved successful to the point of withdrawing the car before the end of the event to prepare it for its next appearance on the weekend of August 6 at the Nürburgring (Germany) where it will be presented in the paddock of ADAC TCR Germany.

“We were able to test the Hyundai i30 TCR in very variable conditions thanks to the invitation received, comments Andrea Adamo, director of the Customer Competitions section of Hyundai Motorsport. As planned, we were able to work on numerous adjustments to study the performance of the brakes and tires as well as the fueling system and additional headlights for endurance races. »

Hyundai Motorsport was satisfied to see that the 2l turbo that powers the i30 TCR demonstrated good reliability.

“The same engine has been used since the first test session. So he did a lot more kilometers than expected., adds Andrea Adamo. The main objectives of the weekend having been completed, we chose to preserve it so that the car could run again this week. »

Hyundai Motorsport plans to deliver the first models from the beginning of December.
