IGTC – 33 cars for the Laguna Seca final

After the 12 Hours of Bathurst, the 24 Hours of Spa and the 10 Hours of Suzuka, the 8 Hours of California will conclude the 2018 season of theIntercontinental GT Challenge next weekend on the Laguna Seca track in California.

33 cars are expected on the starting grid, according to the following distribution: 16 GT3, 14 GT4/GTC and 3 TCR. In the premier GT3 category, all eyes will be on the leading tandem in the general classification Tristan Vautier – Raffaele Marciello, best placed to win the Drivers crown.

More Mercedes-AMG has decided to separate its two drivers to maximize the title chances, Vautier playing with Maro Engel and Maxi Buhk at SunEnergy 1, while Marciello will drive the Strakka Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Maxi Götz and Lewis Williamson.

Same case at Audi, where Markus Winkelhock and Christopher Haase, the last to be able to prevent a Mercedes coronation, will drive two different R8 LMS GT3s. Winkelhock will join Dries Vanthoor and Robin Frijns at Team WRT while Haase will be supported by Kelvin van der Linde and Christopher Mies at Montaplast by Land Motorsport.

Bentley (avec le renfort d’une Continental GT3 pour le Team K-Pax Racing) et Porsche (avec Wright Motorsports en tête de pont) seront les deux autres marques représentées à Laguna Seca en GT3.
