The South African test, initially scheduled for December 4 before being postponed due to the health situation, thus marked the end of the 2021 season. A trophy as an epilogue to a full exercise for the Italian driver, author of a pantagruelian season: World champion ofEndurance, winner of the GT World Challenge Europe in the Endurance Cup or victories at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“It has been an extraordinary season, and I think it will be difficult to repeat it because, even though we are now in 2022, this result includes those of last year, declared the Piedmontese after this victory. With Ferrari and AF Corse, we won everything we could win. I feel bad for Nicklas (Nielsen. Editor’s note), who ran with us all season, but Ferrari's choice to separate us was logical to try to double our chances of success. I would like to thank Miguel (Molina. Editor’s note) and Como for this magnificent race. Today, for the first time, my last stint went without incident and I was able to manage the lead and the car. The season took the right turn for us at Spa-Francorchamps and, ultimately, we won this title thanks to two very good overtakes. » Now on to the 2022 season for Alessandro Pier Guidi, who has already started with a second place in the GTD Pro category at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

This title in IGTC is also a new line to add to the list of achievements of the 488 GT3 at the Prancing Horse. It is in fact his 107th title in these standards (GT3), his 119th in total. More than ever, the 488 is the most successful Ferrari in the brand's history.
