Iron Lynx and Iron Dames move to Lamborghini in 2023

In connection with the new partnership with Lamborghini in LMDh, Iron Lynx and Iron Dames will change their mount in GT and will use Huracán GT3 EVO2 from 2023.

Iron Lynx and Lamborghini, a partnership that goes far beyond the LMDh program. If the Cesena structure and the Sant'Agata Bolognese manufacturer will cooperate for the arrival of the brand in Taurus in WEC and IMSA, the two entities will also join forces in Grand Touring competitions. Iron Lynx and Iron Dames will abandon the Ferrari to use the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 from 2023. The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Super Trofeo Grand Finals organized in Portimão (Portugal), Saturday evening, during the awards ceremony.

At the same time, Iron Lynx unveiled its GT program for 2023. The Italian team will participate in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo for the 2023 season. Andrea Piccini's team also revealed the livery for its No. 3 Lamborghini Huracán GT2 EVO63, with a striking green color scheme. Additionally, Iron Lynx will race with the No. 63 and No. 19 cars at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Iron Dames will also be there in Florida, with car #83, a first for the 100% female crew.

Lamborghini has “big goals” in GT with Iron Lynx

Giorgio Sanna, director of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, welcomed this new collaboration for the Italian firm. “I am extremely proud of the partnership with Iron Lynx. This is a team as young as Lamborghini Squadra Corse, which, like us, has grown exponentially over the years and has become a protagonist in GT racing around the world after debuting with us in Super Trofeo in 2018. Now we find ourselves together and we will strive to be stronger and more mature and set big goals. »

On the other hand, we will surely have to wait until 2024 to see Iron Lynx and Iron Dames use Lamborghinis on the rounds of WEC andELMS, where the GT3 regulations will only come into force from 2024. In the meantime, both teams are expected to use Porsche 911 RSR in 2023, story of a season of transition, in partnership with Proton Competition.
