Jacques Villeneuve will compete in the Nascar Whelen Euro in 2019

After rallycross or Formula E in recent years, Jacques Villeneuve will return to a championship in 2019 with a commitment to the Nascar Whelen Euro Series.

Jacques Villeneuve will compete in the Nascar Whelen Euro in 2019

Retirement ? Jacques Villeneuve Do not even think about it. The consultant and commentator F1 of Canal + was still recently evolving in Rallycross or Formula E, and will change category again in 2019.

The Canadian, 1 F1997 world champion, will return to Nascar, via the series Whelen Euro Series, promoted by Jérôme Galpin and his troops. The old pilot Williams or Sauber in F1 will evolve within the Go Fas Racing, a team which also competes in the Nascar Cup Series in the United States.

Villeneuve was able to test the car on December 13 and 14 at Franciacorta, he who had notably taken part in several rounds in the Sprint Cup, Xfinity Series, Canadian Tire Series during his career.

“I had a lot of fun discovering the car, because it’s very similar to what I experienced in Nascar in the United States, underlines Villeneuve. You can really push hard and work on the car, which is very nice.

Coming back full-time is what matters most to me, because I want to be part of an overall project and have a goal for the whole season. I'm really looking forward to the first race of the season. »

The first F1 world champion to enter the Whelen Euro Series, the winner of the 500 Indianapolis 1995 will try to make a structure that had started in Europe this year shine in Elite 1, with a Ford Mustang entrusted to Romain Iannetta.
