Johnson treats, Stewart collects

After weeks of up-and-down performances, Jimmie Johnson wanted to set the record straight. And how ! The Chevrolet driver, starting from thirteenth position, dominated this race with ease, spending 298 of the 400 laps in the lead. However, the title holder Nascar was only in ninth position in the final straight at Dover, thirty laps from the finish. But a judicious choice of tires allowed Johnson to catch up with his opponents one by one, dropping them off at the train, without too much difficulty.

Greg Biffle is the driver, after Johnson, who has spent the most laps in the lead. But in the last kilometers, he was unable to contain either Johnson or Stewart, who took the first two places. With this success, Jimmie Johnson returns to position himself in the title race. Just like Tony Stewart, second, who takes the lead in the general classification. If the Chase is still far away, the hierarchy of this 2009 season is gradually being put in place, and Jimmie Johnson proves that he is clearly a contender for his own succession.
