Karen Gaillard, Junior PCCF 2025: “Porsche is the emblem of motorsport”

What motivated you to register?

The Junior Programme is the first step in the pyramid Porsche. My goal is to reach the highest level in motorsport. To do that, you have to start at the bottom of the ladder. The Porsche Carrera Cup France is a championship known for its competitiveness that I have wanted to join for a long time. This season, I really felt ready and I thought I had a chance to win the selection.

What is your personal connection with Porsche?

For me, Porsche is the emblem of motorsport. I was lucky to do the rookie test ELMS with the Iron Dames' Porsche 911 GT3 R. A car that reflects the manufacturer's image: splendid.

Did you consult the Iron Dames before committing to the Junior Programme?

I asked them for their opinion and they were very happy that I signed up. I remain an Iron Dame even though I am the Junior PCCF 2025. They are really happy with the result.

How did the two days of selection go?

I found it very interesting because the program is complete. Whether it's the sports part or the media training, we can identify the points on which we need to work to progress. Then the driving day with the Cup was great. I had a lot of fun behind the wheel and I can't wait to be back in it.

What did you say to each other as you left?

I was happy with myself because I had given my all. I couldn't have any regrets since I had done my best. I told myself that I had a chance since I had been present in all areas.

And finally, you are the chosen one! What do you expect from this Junior year?

To learn a lot at first. Then, I rather come from itEndurance and I'm looking forward to doing sprints again. I did some in 2022 in Mitjet 2L. I know it's not going to be easy, that I'm going to have to work very hard, but that doesn't scare me! I'm also looking forward to understanding how this Porsche drives.

You become the first woman to win the selection. Is this a source of pride?

Of course yes because it is one of the fights that we lead with Iron Dames. Women have their place in motorsport. When we put on a helmet we are all drivers. Being the first is cool but I hope there will be others.

Will you have ambitions for the general classification, in addition to the rookie classification?

I want to be at the best possible level. Firstly, the goal is to play the rookie podiums. The goal then is to wait for the scratch podiums but it will take a few races for that to come.
