Keselowski at the finish at Talladega

There were all colors on the Talladega superspeedway this Sunday. Between battles at the front of the races, clashes and restarts, the competitors put on a top-notch spectacle.

Increasing in recent weeks, Matt DiBenedetto (Wood Brothers Racing) clearly positioned himself as an outsider for the Sunday meeting on the Alabama side. He finally became a serious contender.

Leader in the last part of the race, the Californian had done the hardest part before being cut off in his tracks by debris from the car of Martin Truex Jr. (Joe Gibbs Racing) three laps from the checkerboard.

Then in the lead at the final restart and even under the white flag (synonymous with the last lap), Matt DiBenedetto was surprised by Brad Keselowski who went off in a cannonball to cross the finish line first.

Smarter than everyone, the native of Rochester Hills, Michigan, only needed one lap as a driver to score his first victory of the year, his sixth at Talladega.

Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) still can't do it. In search of his first victory of the year, the Floridian lost all hope of success this Sunday just before the end of the 2nd segment. Involved in an accident, the pilot of the Toyota Camry No. 11 was then penalized twice for speeding in the pit lane.

The race was also marked by Joey Logano's accident in the first segment. Hit in the rear, the Team Penske driver lost control of his car and went flying. Luckily, the American escaped unscathed.
