Asia returns to the 2021 calendar

The days pass and the different calendars for the 2021 season are confirmed. After'ERC (European Rally Championship) this Thursday, it's the WTCR's turn to reveal itself.

After a year 2020 marked by the health crisis and exclusively European, the players in the Touring Car World Cup will go beyond the borders of the Old Continent next year. Indeed, Asia is making its comeback within the WTCR.

After the five inaugural rounds in Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Portugal and Spain, the 2021 season will end with three Asian meetings: South Korea, China and Macau. For the Chinese event, the arrival of the WTCR is being finalized. The name of the circuit has not yet been announced.

Big news, race weekends will no longer have three but two races. This decision aims to reduce team costs. This will further reduce fuel consumption and put less strain on car components. Despite this change, the 16-race format adopted in 2020 is maintained.

The 2021 season is scheduled to kick off in Hungary (May 14-16) before the grand finale in Macau (November 19-21).

The 2021 season calendar

  • Hungary – Hungaroring (May 14-16)
  • Slovakia – Slovakia Ring (May 22-24)
  • Germany – Nürburgring Nordschleife (June 3-5)
  • Portugal – Vila Real (June 25-27)
  • Spain – MotorLand Aragón (July 9-11)
  • South Korea – Inje Speedium (October 8-10)
  • China – To be confirmed (November 5-7)
  • Macau – Guia Circuit (November 19-21)
