The winners of the 2018 edition will be absent, leaving the door open for a fight between 28 GT3s for success in the inaugural round of the 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

The complete entry list for the 12 Bathurst 2019 Hours

There may be traffic jams on the Mount Panorama circuit at the 12 Bathurst 1 Hours (Australia, February 3-2019). Out of a total of 41 cars entered, no less than 28 GT3s will fight for victory during the first round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season (IGTC).

The full list of participants was revealed on Friday January 18. Australian Supercars specialists will be out in force with eight Bathurst 1K winners including Craig Lowndes, Jamie Whincup and David Reynolds on a Mercedes-AMG from Team Vodafone. 

 

Seven French people will take part in this event: Matthieu Vaxiviere and Mathieu Jaminet will discover piloting in Australia respectively in a Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 du R-Motorsport et une Porsche 911 GT3-R EBM. Kevin Estre and Romain Dumas will also be on board a Competition Motorsports / McElrea Racing and EBM Porsche. 

Jules Gounon continues his adventure with Bentley, while Vincent Abril sera dans l’autre Continental GT3 de l’écurie Team M-Sport. At last, outgoing IGTC champion Tristan Vautier remains with SunEnergy1 Racing (Mercedes). 

The winners of the 12 Bathurst 2018 Hours will all be absent, namely Stuart Leonard, Dries Vanthoor and Robin Frijns with Audi. Among the big names present are the Touring specialist duo Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal together in an Audi R8 LMS, Augusto Farfus, Chaz Mostert and Martin Tomczyk in a BMW M6 GT3.

 

Mercedes will line up some top crews like Buhk-Marciello-Götz or Engel-Stolz-Paffett. The KCMG line-up will bring two Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3s, one for the Imperatori-Jarvis-Liberati trio, the other for 2015 winner Katsumasa Chiyo, joined by Tsugio Matsuda and Joshua Burdon.

Note the registration of the former pilot of Formula 1 Ivan Capelli behind the wheel of a Trofeo Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
