The 2021 Ultimate Cup Series season concludes in Estoril

The Ultimate Cup Series caravan headed to Portugal to compete in the sixth and final race of the season.

The 2021 Ultimate Cup Series season concludes in Estoril

The Ultimate Cup Series returns to the track which allowed it to take off in 2019 to conclude this year 2021. The competitors of the GT grids Endurance, GT Sprint, Endurance Proto, Single seat et Peugeot 208 made the trip.

Plusieurs équipes ont choisi de faire une pige à Estoril. C’est notamment le cas de CLRT en GT Endurance, avec deux Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, type 992. L’écurie lauréate en Porsche Carrera Cup France alignera un équipage composé du co-fondateur de l’équipe, Tugdual Rabreau et du champion en titre de la discipline hexagonale, Marvin Klein. La seconde voiture sera quant à elle pilotée par Pierre-Yves et Benjamin Paque.

Also note the return of Raymond Narac, winner at Le Mans, in the Porsche 911 GT3 R ofIMSA Performance. The GT Class 3A category, which saw four different crews win in five races, will undoubtedly be very competitive. The title will be played between Renault RS 01 n°5 of Franck Dezoteux and Stéphane Tribaudini, the Renault n°45 of Franck Thybaud and Eric Cayrolle, the Ferrari 488 GT3 n°1 of Jean-Bernard Bouvet, Jean-Paul Pagny and Thierry Perrier, as well as the Mercedes-AMG GT3 n°83 by Charles-Henri Samani and Emmanuel Collard.

On the Endurance Proto side, Team Virage arrives as the undisputed leader of the championship. Mathis Poulet, Julian Wagg and the local of the stage, Miguel Cristovao. The second Ligier JS P320 from the team based in Valencia, Spain is entrusted to Alessandro Bracalente and Stéphane Adler. Jordan Perroy and Nicolas Melin are joined by Mathias Beche in the #08 DB Autosport Duqueine D21, while Konrad Motorsport will make its LMP3 debut, with a Ginetta G61-LT-P3, for Franz Konrad and Tim Zimmermann.

The single-seaters will also provide a spectacle with 17 F3Rs and FR2.0s on the starting grid for each of the three races, including the favorite for the title, Nicolas Cheers. The CMR driver will nevertheless have to face the young Dutch driver, Laurens van Hoepen who excels at the wheel of the Graff F3R.

Estoril will mark the final battle of the GT Sprint between Marc Waechter and Bernard Delhez. At the wheel of their Renault RS 01, the two men engaged in a fierce battle and only had the title on their minds. A third GT Class 3A could come and play spoilsport since Gilles Colombani will drive a Renault entered by the Clairet Sport team. THE Aston Martin Vantage, Porsche Cup, Ferrari 488 Challenge and even 308 Cup will compete in their respective categories. Note that for the final, the races will last 25 minutes, compared to 20 since the start of the season.

The Peugeot 208 Racing Cups are also taking part in the last four Sprint races of the season and the 208 Relay. This 4-hour race will start in daytime conditions and end in the middle of the night.
