The Toyota Supra arrives in Nascar

Toyota Racing will field a new model in Nascar next year by entering the Supra to replace the Camry in the Xfinity Series category. It was in the Daytona paddock (Florida) which is once again hosting the discipline this weekend that the Japanese manufacturer confirmed the information.

“When it comes to Toyota and iconic cars, the Supra is the first thing that comes to mind for many fans, assures Ed Laukes, vice-president of Toyota Marketing Division. The return of the Supra to production is fantastic news, but we will also see it compete in motorsport in the USA. From a marketing point of view, it is important to get a racing car that captures the dynamism and character of the model. We're confident we've achieved this with the Supra. »

The Toyota Supra Nascar Xfinity was created in partnership with Calty, the Toyota US design studio, in association with Toyota Racing Development (TRD).

The Toyota Camry, present in the Nascar Xfinity Series since 2007, will continue to evolve in the Cup Series. The Tundra model is rife in the Camping World Truck Series.
