Lada continues its progress

By finishing sixth twice at Imola, James Thompson took Lada's first points in the World Touring Car Championship. Two and a half months after the launch of its new Priora in the WTCC, the Russian manufacturer thus confirms its rise in power.

Only 15th on the starting grid for race 1, James Thompson took advantage of everyone's setbacks in the first curves to climb into sixth position. He then managed to defend his position from the attacks of D?Aste, Hernández, Menu and Porteiro. In the second Sunday race, the Briton was behind the leading group in fifth position before being overtaken by Jordi Gené. However, he again won the three points for 6th place.

« It was a very good weekend for Lada on a circuit that I love " said Thompson. “ These two results demonstrate that we are making progress. The car seems to be getting better and better. We must be realistic because there is still a lot of work to be done but we are heading in the right direction. »
