Like Porsche with its 911 GT3 RS approved “road” with a view to facilitating developments subsequently dedicated to competition, Lamborghini has imagined the STO version of its Huracán, whose power from the 10-liter naturally aspirated V5.2 delivers 640 horsepower. The resemblance with the road model is much more obvious, notably with the integration of the air intake on the roof taken from the Super Trofeo. Air intake which more directly feeds the V10 which benefits, in turn, from ten electronically controlled butterflies which reinforce the responsiveness of the engine.

If the roll bar now meets FIA 2022 specifications, most of the new elements focus on aerodynamics: front splitter, diffuser and rear wing, flat bottom, as well as fully carbon bodywork ensure better efficiency and load. the current GTE EVO. Finally, the braking system introduces new calipers more in line with the driving assistance systems: ABS, traction control, etc.

More than an evolution

« The new Huracán GT3 EVO2 is not simply an evolution of the current car. It is a new project that strengthens the technological transfer between Lamborghini's motorsport department and the company, and which inherits two difficult tasks: to prove as efficient as the previous generations of Huracán GT3, capable of winning more than 40 international titles in six seasons, and to match its commercial success by helping to achieve the target of 500 racing Huracáns sold since 2015 », Comments Giorgio Sanna, director of Lamborghini Squadra Corse.

The Huracán GT3 EVO2 will be delivered to customers from the second half of the year, while older generation models can be updated via a kit. Its competitive debut is planned for the 24 2023 Hours of Daytona… and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024.
