Lamera Cup – Castellet: At the end of the suspense, victory for L’Auto Leclerc by Asphalte

By starting from pole position, Continental Racing hoped to put an end to the tradition that the Var event is not successful for the crew. Wasted effort. After an average start putting the #40 Lamera back three places even before the first turn, the car suffered from alternator and battery problems before a broken wheel wishbone put an end to the crew's ordeal in the last hour of the race. The only consolation for Continental Racing was having set a time of 2.19.773, the best lap in the race and a new record for a Lamera at Le Castellet. Conversely, we will remember the very good battle for victory between L'Auto Leclerc by Asphalte (Orgeval, Casals, Valensi), Team Lamera (Couasnon, Wilfried, Thomas and Matteo Merafina) and the trio ETC Racing 1 (Dufour, Parsa , Demigneux), the three cars crossing the finish line in that order. Only 37 seconds separated the first two after 104 covered laps.

Behind Team TTM 75 (Di Ducca, Soave, Samarianov) ranks 4th. A performance which does not reflect the potential of the crew which a penalty for non-compliance with track limits falling at the start of the race will have significantly delayed. Among the good surprises of this race, we will remember the competitiveness of the Pro-Am category, the first six in the category, classified from 6th to 12th place overall, finishing in the same lap, just three laps behind the leaders. The class victory goes to the CTF Corpoboost trio (Poret, Corbie, Boust). The podium in the Gentleman category was also decided between three crews finishing in the same lap, with Team GFC emerging victorious (Guignard, Kapoussouzian, Fouque, Gonzalez).

Start of the second race of the weekend this Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
