This isn't the first time the Lamera Cup has come to Jarama. But the excitement is always the same...
“We enter a different world from Magny-Cours”, analyzes Emmanuel Orgeval, reigning champion. "It's the one from the F1 from the 1970s. Very little run-off and a surface today that requires extreme vigilance. Many corners are tricky to negotiate. The ideal line is not easy to find. It takes a lot of experience to set a decent time. I wouldn't be surprised if the time differences are over a second. As for the tarmac, I noticed that the bump at the end of the straight is still there even though the resurfacing was done a short time ago. But what a thrill to be in such a context, where drivers as talented as Patrick Depailler, Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi, Niki Lauda, James Hunt and Mario Andretti have scored resounding victories.

This Friday, the Lamera Cup is dedicated to free practice and track debuts. Some competitors will experience the thrill of motor racing for the first time. Of course, they'll benefit from the guidance of experienced drivers, theoretical lessons, and personalized support from certified instructors.
On Saturday, after free practice and qualifying, a four-hour race will establish the first hierarchy. On Sunday, the competitors will engage in a six-hour battle. It's not impossible that at some point, rain could add some challenges to this single-make championship, where the level of riding is particularly high.
