After a spectacular season opener at Magny-Cours, the Lamera Cup continues its European tour this weekend with its first Spanish stop at the formidable MotorLand Aragón circuit. A regular scene of the biggest battles of the MotoGPThe track designed by Hermann Tilke has once again confirmed its reputation as a decisive factor. Between its long straight conducive to drafting, its fast sequences and its impressive "Muler d'Aragón", the 5,344 km circuit demands precision, commitment and composure.
After a crucial Friday track day to get to grips with this ultra-technical circuit, the competitors got down to business this morning with a decisive qualifying session before Saturday's four-hour race. As with the season opener in Nièvre, the Lamera 3TM 62 immediately displayed its ambitions. Thanks to their perfect synergy, Joffrey Dorchy, Wilfried, and Mattéo Mérafina secured their second consecutive pole position of 2026. This performance was quickly confirmed in the race, with the #62 transforming this ideal position into a controlled victory at the end of an intense Race 1 on the Aragonese rollercoaster.
At the end of the 100-lap race, the brilliant crew finished just 13 seconds ahead of the championship leaders, the #82 Milo Sens. Kevin Caprasse, Lorenzo Donniacuo, Edouard Chevalier, and Simon Tourneur can take solace in more valuable points, further solidifying their position at the top of the overall standings. On the third step of the podium, the 2024 champion, the #73 L'Auto Leclerc driven by Benoit Gruau, Emmanuel Orgeval, and Adrien Harang, reminded their rivals of their strengths and reaffirmed their ambitions in the quest for the title.
100 laps, all out on the attack!
In the Pro/Am category, the #29 Astonjet driven by Antonio Cristino, Charles Clair, and Paul Levet put on a dominant performance. They secured pole position, led the race from start to finish, and ultimately finished a strong 6th overall. The #79 BK by GDM Racing and the #47 KCX by GL Autosport completed the podium after a close battle, separated by only 16 seconds at the checkered flag.
