Arriving in Nièvre for the first round of the 2026 Lamera Cup season, it would have been very difficult to draw up an initial hierarchy given the number of contenders for the title this year.
After a thrilling race marked by some spectacular on-track battles, the Lamera #82 Milo Sens secured the prestigious first crown of the vintage. And this vintage is undoubtedly a truly exceptional one!
Kevin Caprasse, Lorenzo Donniacuo, Guillaume Mondron, and Simon Tourneur secured a fine victory ahead of the #73 L'Auto Leclerc driven by Benoit Gruau, and Emmanuel and Clément Orgeval. Only one lap, out of 116 laps, separated the two leaders as they crossed the finish line. This speaks volumes about the intensity of the battle.
A hierarchy yet to be established
Behind these declared contenders for the crown, Franck Dupuis, and Olivier and Henri Lombard, who moved up to the Elite category after their 2025 Pro/Am victory, placed the #5 Venum by Hedonic on the final step of the podium. A race to forget, however, for the defending Continental by Hedonic team, who were three laps down in the opening minutes and finished in 9th place. Tomorrow is another day!
In the Pro/Am category, we witnessed a demonstration of skill from the #47 KCX by GL Autosport driven by Roman Tajon, Didier Moinel Delalande, and Vincent Pheby. Pole position, race-leading performance, and a sensational 6th place overall at the finish. Astonjet (#5) and BK by GDM Racing (#79) certainly appreciated their hard-fought final podium positions, but they will undoubtedly need to raise their game to challenge today's winners in tomorrow's feature race.
Finally, it was the #86 2B Racing Milo that prevailed among the Gentlemen with a good lead over the #3 Triangle France.
Before focusing on organizing tomorrow's 7-hour race, the organizers can be pleased with a very impressive statistic: 27 cars started the competition, and 27 finished. Hats off to the Lamera team!
