When we tell you that this championship is thrilling! This Saturday at noon, at the end of qualifying on the Magny-Cours circuit, we expected a duel between the Lamera 1 (L'auto Leclerc) and the 62 (Team Lamera). In the first laps, it was even the champion car that nicely took control of the race by opening up a nice gap on its rivals. Unfortunately, problems forced it to return to the pits more often than it should have. To the point of finishing in the depths of the ranking.
An opportunity that the other competitors in the race for the title did not miss. Thus, in this 4-hour race that ended between dogs and wolves and marked by numerous showers, the 62 won with only 17 seconds ahead of the 80 (CTF Continental Racing) while the 41 (Scania France) finished on the 3rd step of the podium less than a lap behind.
In the Pro/Am category, victory went to the 53 of the Belgian team Genius Water Racing. On the Gentlemen side, the 47 largely dominated the debates with a nice 12th place overall to the key.
All these great people will meet up tomorrow, from 9:30 am for a 7-hour long endurance. But first, it is all about sacrificing to the debriefing ritual like no other. In the Lamera Cup, there is no data analysis, endless meetings and confrontations between engineers gathered by satellite. At Magny-Cours as elsewhere, this post-race meeting takes place in the corner of the bar, with lots of elbow bumps.
