The Brands Hatch circuit under construction

The historic English track at Brands Hatch is currently undergoing a major wave of work in preparation for the 2020 season.

The main area concerned is the end of the Clearways straight which leads to the final Clark Curve corner. The Clearways relief area will be extensively redesigned with Armco barriers and fences moved away from the circuit. The gravel trap has also been considerably enlarged.

“This major project is extremely positive and massively increases the safety of competitors, both in car racing and motorcycle racing, comments Mike Groves, circuit manager. This development significantly increases the size of the gravel traps at Clearways and Clark Curve, but will continue to allow spectators to view from this area if they wish. »

The work will be completed before the first 2020 event at Brands Hatch, the BMCRC-MRO 2020 Bike Championships (March 7-8). The GT World Challenge Europe (Sprint Cup) and the DTM will also visit the Kent circuit this year.
