Despite a postponed start to the season due to Covid-19, the GT World Challenge Europe will once again look great in 2020.Endurance Cup, which will begin on July 25 and 26 in Imola (Italy), will see 42 GT3 fight on the track, while the Sprint Cup and its one-hour races attracted 23 competitors year round.

In the Endurance Cup, 20 cars will host the Pro class. In total, 11 manufacturers will be represented (Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Porsche, Lexus, BMW, Aston Martin, Honda).

As for the Sprint Cup, we will find Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lexus and Mercedes-AMG on all rounds.

« Last March, we announced our largest starting grid Of the history, recalls Stéphane Ratel, founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports. We had 53 entries in the Endurance Cup and 33 in the Sprint Cup. Four months of inactivity and the coronavirus inevitably led teams to pause their programs. The withdrawal of R-Motorsport, which was to enter three Aston Martins over the year, was significant. »

Stéphane Ratel, however, wants to remain optimistic. “Having 11 different brands on the Endurance Cup roster is simply fantastic, while the Sprint Cup will once again showcase the quality of the drivers and teams. In both championships we expect to receive entrants on an ad hoc basis and we hope to have around 50 cars at Imola. »
