The Hungaroring joins the ETCR calendar

Unveiled last February, the provisional calendar has undergone a first modification in view of the inaugural season of the ETCR.

Taking place in support of the 24 Hours of Zolder, the round planned on the Belgian circuit (July 2 to 4) was canceled, the organizers confirmed this Wednesday April 21. “ The new logistical challenges made the race in Belgium impossible despite the efforts of the organization and the circuit management to find a solution. ", Reads the statement.

This cancellation allows Hungary to join the 2021 calendar. The arrival of the ETCR on Hungarian soil is now scheduled for August 21 and 22 at the Hungaroring at the same time as that of the WTCR.

« ETCR to offer Hungarian fans a completely different experience with our revolutionary racing format, underlines Xavier Gavory, director of the ETCR. They like to have constant action, wheel-to-wheel battles. This is exactly what they will have ».

While waiting for the round in Hungary, the ETCR will launch its season in Vallelunga next June (18-20).
