WTCC set to head to Ningbo

The calendar for the 2017 WTCC season is expected to evolve. The Chinese round scheduled for the weekend of October 15 in Shanghai is expected to be moved to the Ningbo International Circuit in Zhejiang province.

It was the organizer of Chinese F4 and the CTCC who announced the news, the two Championships having to participate in the meeting as support races. Eurosport Events, the WTCC promoter, has not yet confirmed the news. The change will also have to be validated by the FIA.

The Shanghai circuit, which also hosts the Chinese Grand Prix of F1 without interruption since 2004, has hosted the WTCC since 2012. A first event in China was contested on the Shanghai Tianma Circuit in 2011.
