WTCR extends its Trophy into 2021

Introduced in 2020 in order to reconnect with the affordable spirit of Tourism, the Trophy will be renewed within the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) in 2021. Only teams that do not have financial support from A competition department of a manufacturer will be eligible, such as Romeo Ferraris or Comtoyou Racing.

Winner in 2020, Jean-Karl Vernay underlines the usefulness of such a class. “It was a fantastic experience to be in a smaller team with a lot more responsibility and I absolutely loved it.

We went faster and faster and fought for the overall podium with our limited resources. It was a good challenge for me and I took it very seriously, putting in so much effort. We can all be proud of what we have accomplished. It’s an excellent platform to race at the forefront of the WTCR,” analyzes the Frenchman, also 3rd in the general ranking.
