Suzuka 10 Hours canceled and replaced

For the second year in a row, the Intercontinental GT Challenge will not travel to Suzuka to compete in the traditional 10 Hours, initially scheduled for August 20 to 22. Health and travel restrictions forced the organizers of the event, Mobilityland Corporation, to simply cancel it.

« It is with sadness and disappointment that I confirm that the Suzuka 10 Hours will not take place this year, regretted the boss of SRO, Stéphane Ratel. The event is a real highlight of the international endurance calendar and we look forward to returning in 2022 ».

Faced with this cancellation, theIGTC will travel to the Middle East for the first time in its history to fill the gap in the schedule. “ With that disappointment also comes opportunity, and there are several in the Middle East that we are studying right now, continues Stéphane Ratel. I can't wait to see IGTC race in a new region this year ».

The rest of the 2021 calendar remains unchanged. The first event is scheduled for July 31 to August 1 during the 24 Hours of Spa before the round in Indianapolis (October 16-17) and the final at Kyalami scheduled for next December.
