Summaries of Sunday's races in the Ultimate Cup Series in Dijon

Ultimate Cup Series – 4 GT Sprint race : and four for Marc Waechter!

Last race of the day in Dijon for the Ultimate Cup. The opportunity for Marc Waechter to bury the competition a little more.

He is everywhere, and he makes it clear: Marc Waechter (G2 Racing AG) starts at the head of this last GT Sprint round. The Swiss driver immediately recorded the best lap in the race, and at the same time ensured that he dropped his rivals Maxime Mainguy (Breizh Motorsport 56) and Jeremy Lourenco (Mitjet).

If the classification at the back of the grid changes little, some great battles are taking place at the front: on the fourth lap of the race, Alexandre Guesdon (Génération Stunt) passes Franck Marchoix (MV2S Racing) for fifth place. For his part, Marc Waechter took the opportunity to improve the best lap time (1'21.257).

At the halfway point, the ranking remains unchanged. Marc Waechter continues to widen the gap with Maxime Mainguy (12 seconds after the 12th lap). Four minutes from the end of the race, Victor Shaytar (Mitjet) lost fourth place to Alexandre Guesdon (Génération Stunt).

On the last lap, Alexandre Guesdon (Génération Stunt) passed Jeremy Lourenco (Mintjet) and got on the podium. The rest of the ranking will not change, and Maxime Mainguy wins his fourth victory of the weekend. A perfect journey for the Swiss driver, who is accompanied by Maxime Mainguy Breizh Motorsport 56) and Jeremy Lourenco (Mintjet) on the last podium this Saturday.

Ultimate Cup Series – P3/EVO CN race : a first long stint in Dijon

The final day of the Ultimate Cup Series on the Dijon-Prenois circuit begins with a four-hour endurance race mixing P3 categories and EVO CN prototypes. Twelve entrants take the start at 9:20 a.m.

Miguel Cristovao (Car number 88, Team Virage) starts at the head of the race. He is followed by Maurice Smith (Car number 69, Cool Racing) and Pietro Peccenini (Car 73, TS Corse) It's a long relay ahead since the clock shows four hours of racing.

From the start, the pace is essential for the P3 category: the cars swallow the turns and their drivers try to widen the gap. Maurice Smith overtakes Miguel Cristovao and takes the opportunity to set the first best time on the provisional lap (1'14.515), quickly buried by the lap of 1'13.952 from Nicolas Schatz (Car number 72, ANS Motorsport). Philippe Cimadomo gets rid of Pietro Peccenini and climbs into third position. As for the EVO CN prototypes, the pace is essential.

At the start of the fifth lap, it was a resurgent Cristovao who achieved the third provisional best lap in 1'13.078. Peccenini returns to Cimadomo (Car number 77, Team Virage) and recovers third place.

At 30 minutes of racing, Cristovao pits and drops to third. Nicolas Schatz, who had moved up to third place by overtaking Maurice Smith, moved up to second place. Pietro Peccenini is provisionally in the lead. Nicolas Schatz steals it from him a few laps later, while Cristovao, after a long stop, is one lap behind.

As the first hour of racing passed, Cristovao moved up to fourth place. Nicolas Schatz is still at the top of the standings, with Pietro Peccenini (32 seconds behind) and Maurice Smith (one lap behind) hot on his heels.

On the 51st lap, the stopping of a P3 car on the track caused the safety car to come out. The pilot will not leave. The race resumes on the 55th lap, and thanks to a clever strategy, it is the modest EVO CN prototype of Daniel Bassora (Car number 223, DB Autosport) which finds itself in the lead, just ahead of Miguel Cristovao having resumed his colors. The Frenchman logically passes by the latter, and Cristovao regains the lead of the race.

On the 64th lap, the top 3 are as follows: Cristovao, Smith (+15 seconds) and Yvon (+1 lap). A car in the EVO CN category is stopped on the side of the track, and the safety car regime is once again invoked by the track marshals.

On the 82nd lap, Cristovao pitted to put on a new set of tires. Alexandre Yvon takes the lead in the race. The top 3: Yvon, Smith (+1 lap) and Robert (+1 lap).

On the 89th lap, Smith passed Yvon for the lead of the race. The halfway point is almost here.

On the 107th lap, the safety car came out. Lionel Robert (Car 21, DB Autosport) leads the race ahead of Julien Wagg (Car number 88, Team Virage) and Matthew Bell (Car 69, Cool Racing).

With one hour to go, Matthew Bell set the fastest lap in the provisional race (1'13.066). Julien Wagg is still in the lead.

On the 150th lap, the top 5 is as follows: Matthew Bell (Car 69, Cool Racing), Alessandro Ghiretti (Car 88, Team Virage), Antoine Robert (Car number 21, DB Autosport), Alexandre Yvon (Car number 72, ANS Motorsport) and Elio Gamba (Car 57, EGA Racing).

10 minutes before the end of the race, Allessandro Ghiretti (Car number 88, Team Virage) is in the lead. He is one lap ahead of his compatriot Antoine Robert (Car number 21, DB Autosport).

After four hours of effort, it was car number 88 from Team Virage which won the race (Allessandro Ghiretti, Julien Wagg and Miguel Cristovao at the wheel). The number 21 car from DB Autosport finished second, and the number 69 car from Cool Racing placed third.

Ultimate Cup Series – race 3 Mitjet : Sébastien Seveau wins for the first time

After two victories in a row, Povilas Jankavicius (Arctic Energy) seemed unbeatable. This was without counting on Sébastien Seveau (Generation Stunt), who overtook the Lithuanian driver at the end of the first lap of the race and allowed himself to overtake him by setting the provisional best lap (1'32.371). The next lap, it was a very angry Jankavicius who stole the best lap (1'32.267). The two drivers follow each other very closely, less than a tenth of a second separates them at the end of the fourth lap of the race.

Behind, a lot of French people (Fabien Perdu, Guillaume Bruot and Romain Iannetta) are watching the battle for first place. Jankavicius doesn't give up: after an initial improvement in sector 1 (25.152), he passes Seveau for first place.

The rest of the standings remained unchanged, less than 10 minutes before the end of the race, when Jankavicius made a mistake, and fell to seventh place. Nothing to destabilize him. He begins a comeback, surely a little late, five minutes from the checkered flag.

His efforts were in vain, since it was Sébastien Seveau who ended up winning. Seveau, eternal second in this first part of the weekend, takes victory for the first time from Jankavicius. He finished ahead of Fabien Perdu (FP Racing) and Romain Iannetta (Team Spirit Event) to form a 100% tricolor podium.
