Ahead of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) moving to the Slovakia Ring (Slovakia, July 13-15), a new Performance Scale was unveiled on Tuesday. Sébastien's two Volkswagen Golf GTIs Loeb Racing Rob huff et Mehdi Bennani (victims of a spectacular crash in Portugal) are the most impacted, with the application of ballast increased by 10 kg, i.e. a total of 60 kg.
The Audi RS3 LMS are penalized 50 kg, which will complicate the task in particular of Jean Karl Vernay (Team WRT), best representative of the brand at the Rings (5th with 146 points). The Honda Civic Type-Rs of Münnich Motorsport (notably that of Yann Erlacher) and Boutsen Ginion Racing will embark 40 kg additional load, just like the Hyundai i30 N from Yvan Muller Racing and the BRC Racing Team.
Three models continue the season without the slightest ballast : I'Alfa Romeo Juliet of Team Mulsanne (which has not yet scored a point in 2018), the bronze TCR (three podiums for Pepe Oriola) as well as the Peugeot 308TCR.
Victorious twice with Aurélien Comte in the Netherlands et Mat'o Homola in Portugal, the French car (managed by the DG Sport Competition) could once again play the leading roles: its total weight is contained at 1 kg while the Volkswagen weighs 225 kg, and the Audi, Hyundai and Honda 1 kg.
The @FIA_WTCR at #VilaReal was host to more than a few high-pressure moments this weekend as @MatoHomola performed the perfect joker lap, unseating the touring car legend @yvanmuller! Congratulations, Mato! #TAGHeuerIsMotorRacing #DontCrackUnderPressure pic.twitter.com/f1v2NRRrhk

Finally, the ride height is also modified depending on the car. Ranking leader Yvan Muller's Hyundai is 90 millimeters high while the Honda is 10 millimeters lower. The other competitors remain at 70 millimeters.
