For the first time in its young history, Team Mulsanne will have a non-Italian driver on the starting grid for the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) in 2019. The Chinese Ma Qing Hua will compete on the second Alfa Romeo Juliet alongside Kevin Ceccon.
The 31-year-old driver took part in winter testing with trainer Romeo Ferraris this winter. He was therefore chosen over Tom Coronel and Jono Lester. “I already drove the Giulietta TCR last year (in TCR China, with a victory to the Guangdong final) and I think it has great potential. The team is working hard to develop it this winter”, certified fourth in the WTCC in 2015 with Citroën.

“This will be my second season in an Italian structure in my career (the last time was during a race in Formula 3000 nationally in 2005). » Ma Qing Hua's nationality is an asset for WTCR, according to its promoter François Ribeiro. “With a Chinese car (the Lynk & Co 03 TCR from Geely Group Motorsport for Cyan Racing) who will arrive this season, welcoming a Chinese driver is a special day for the discipline.
He will also be an asset, especially when we visit China during the Ningbo round (September 13-15). Without a doubt, it will attract the following of our Chinese viewers. »
