Pole position, victories in the first two stages, before finishing under the checkered flag: the picture is perfect for Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing – Toyota). The reigning champion of Nascar Cup Series, and winner in Kentucky last year, did not tremble yesterday to achieve his fourth success of the year, the 19th of his career.
Truex Jr led 174 laps out of 267 possible and was ahead of Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski (Team Penske – Ford) at the finish. The Fords and Toyotas were the fastest last night, as Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota) and Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford) complete the top 5 ahead of Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing), Erik Jones (Joe Gibbs Racing) and Aric Almirola (Stewart-Haas Racing).
The best Chevrolet, that of Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing), moved up to ninth place ahead of Joey Logano (Team Penske).
