Maxime Martin and Mikel Azcona neck and neck

The Roman heat of Vallelunga caused some victims. The tires of the ETCR cars are put to the test on the demanding Italian track given its tortuous layout. Adrien Tambay started his day well, qualifying second best time in the group Fast just behind Mikel Azcona. They are followed by Bruno Spengler still in the rhythm on the trans trackalpine. In the hen Furious It is the Canadian's teammate, Maxime Martin who signs the reference. Mattias Ekstrom got a huge scare when he left the track at high speed, with no consequences for the Swede who set the 3rd fastest time in qualifying, 0'181 behind Martin.

The Ile-de-France native nevertheless managed to cross the finish line and score points in a race won by Mikel Azcona ahead of Bruno Spengler. In the second quarter-final of the group Fast, Norbert Michelisz won ahead of Luca Filippi (also victim of a flat tire in the last turns) and Jordi Gené who also had a puncture. In the hen Furious Max Martin gained respect to achieve further success against Mattias Ekström and Tom Blomqvist. The two Cupra drivers alternately tried to dethrone, in vain, the Romeo Ferraris driver. In the next round Nicky Catsburg dominated Jean-Karl Vernay and Giovanni Venturini.
