Like Lamborghini with its Huracán, McLaren will offer an Evo version for its 720S GT3. The British firm has evolved its bike to stay in the game against the new GT3s this season. It will be available from 2023 in Grand Touring championships, such as the GT World Challenge. Customer teams will have two options: buy this new car or update their existing car.

McLaren has learned from the 720S GT3 to improve its copy. The 720S GT3 EVO is distinguished from its predecessor by several improvements to the bodywork, notably the front bumper and splitter which are now equipped with quick releases for easy removal and replacement. These elements feature improved aerodynamics, designed to increase overall downforce while shifting the overall balance forward, to make the car more consistent in traffic.

A chute on the front hood also contributes to balance and improves cooling performance, while the position of the auxiliary lights has been changed for better nighttime visibility during long-distance events. At the rear, the wing mast mechanism can now be easily adjusted, and the rear wing chute is taller to improve downforce without disturbing the overall balance.

The suspensions of the 720S GT3 Evo have also been revised. It now has the all-new TTX40 Ohlins shock absorbers adjustable in 4 directions. The front and rear upper wishbones have been modified. The uprights are also new, while the brakes now have closed-face bells for better disc durability.
