Jamie McMurray will no longer have a full-time Chip Ganassi Racing program next year even though he has been offered another role with the team.

McMurray will no longer be full-time at Ganassi

Jamie McMurray risks being without a wheel in 2019. Chip Ganassi announced to the Associated Press that the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will change drivers next year. The owner of the stable of the same name nevertheless clarified that he had offered a manager position within the organization, “in the manner of Dario (Franchitti)”. The person concerned has not yet announced his decision.

The 42-year-old Missouri native has recorded 7 victories in Nascar Cup Series, including the Brickyard 400 currently contested at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He took his first steps at the highest level of the category within the CGR from 2002 to 2005 before finding refuge within Roush Fenway Racing for 4 seasons. He returned to the Ganassi structure in 2010.
