Muller: “Good to start the season”

Yvan Muller, the only driver among the favorites to have changed cars this winter, showed in Curitiba that he had learned enough from the Cruze to take it to the summits. If the 2008 World Champion still has to compete in both races this Sunday, he was able to do well during the qualifying session by taking pole position.

Third in Q1, the Frenchman shifted gears in Q2, quickly taking the lead. He also took advantage of an error by Norbert Michelisz, several drivers being unable to improve their times. At the end of the session, Yvan Muller was able to record his first pole position with Chevrolet, for his first weekend of competition at the wheel of the Cruze, a year after his Brazilian pole at the wheel of the SEAT Leon TDI.

« My colors have changed since last year but I'm still happy to be on pole, confides the Chevrolet driver. It's a good way to start the season, just as it's a good thing to continue developing my bond with my new team. I am happy for them because they are showing that the hard work done during the winter is paying off because the Chevrolets are in first, third and fourth position on the grid. »

However, the hardest part remains to be done for Yvan Muller and Chevrolet. The two races in Curitiba are scheduled for 18:20 p.m. and 19:35 p.m. (French time).
