It's signed. Brian Vickers will again drive the 2014 Toyota Camry #55 from Michael Waltrip Racing! Already engaged by this team in a work-study program with Mark Martin for two seasons, the driver from North Carolina will this time be enrolled for a full program, in 2014 and 2015.
Author of 3 Sprint Cup Series victories during his career, the 29-year-old American stood out this year by winning the Loudon event on July 14, while Michael Waltrip Racing was in full negotiations for renew its contract with Aaron, its main sponsor since 2000. According to Ty Norris, the team's Team Manager, Vickers' performance proved decisive, with the partner having decided to sign for two additional years.
In addition to the 9 races scheduled this season for Michael Waltrip Racing, Brian Vickers also drove for Joe Gibbs Racing replacing Denny Hamlin when the latter was injured.
No indication has been given regarding Mark Martin's plans for 2014.
