Nascar – Hamlin returns to victory at Martinsville

Denny Hamlin returns to victory by winning for the 5th time on the “short track” de Martinsville (Virginie). Le pilote de la Toyota n°11 a signé son premier succès de la saison et s’est quasiment assuré une place pour le Chase en résistant dans les derniers tours à Brad Keselowski (Team Penske), vainqueur le week-end précédent à Fontana (Californie), qui s’est permis une touchette osée dans le dernier tour mais tout de même insuffisante pour modifier le résultat.

Joe Gibbs Racing had an excellent result as they placed three cars in the top five, with Matt Kenseth and David Ragan placing just behind the Ford of Joey Logano. On the other hand, the weekend was more mixed for the Hendrick which saw Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr suffer in the peloton while Jeff Gordon received a penalty while leading. Note the beautiful 7th place of Danica Patrick ahead of her teammate Kevin Harvick.
